As mentioned, there are only two travel options to get to San Pedro from Belize City: plane and ferry. Choosing between the two depends on how much money you want to spend and how much time you have.

Plane
Traveling by plane from Belize City to San Pedro is ideal if you want to get there as quickly as possible. However, it will cost a bit more than traveling by ferry.
Two airlines fly from Belize City to San Pedro regularly:

- Maya Island Air
Both airlines have nonstop flights from Belize City to San Pedro and back all day. Maya Island Air’s flights start at 7:40 a.m. and go until 9:05 p.m.

The price of a flight from Belize City to San Pedro depends on several factors, including the amount of luggage, carry-ons, and seats. Despite this, you can expect to pay anywhere from $83 to $123 for a ticket.
However, this price might be worth it, considering it takes less than half the time to get to San Pedro than it does on a ferry. However, I’ll discuss this more in the next section.
How Long Does a Flight From Belize City to San Pedro Take?
A flight from Belize City to San Pedro takes around 15 minutes. This is a significant factor in why most people choose to go to San Pedro by plane, as it saves so much time.
So, if you want to spend the day in San Pedro, you can easily do so by taking a plane in the morning and getting back in the evening at a reasonable hour – with only 30 minutes of travel time in total.
However, spending over $100 to travel might not be in your budget. In this case, taking a ferry might be the better option. In the next section, I’ll go over the details of the ferry ride to San Pedro.

While a plane ride might be convenient because of how quickly it can get you to San Pedro, taking a ferry is a much more scenic option. Therefore, at least to some people, a ferry ride is much more enjoyable – at half the cost!
Like flights, there are ferry rides (or water taxis) at various times throughout the day.
The San Pedro Belize Express Water Taxi has several taxi services a day, including:
- 8:00 a.m to 9:30 a.m.
- 10:30 a.m to 12:00 p.m.
- 12:00 p.m to 1:30 p.m.
- 3:00 p.m to 4:30 p.m.
- 4:30 p.m to 6:00 p.m.

It costs $29 to take a ferry from Belize City to San Pedro. However, this ferry is only one way, so going from Belize City to San Pedro and back will cost around $58. However, it’s important to note that these prices can change throughout the year, so keep that in mind when planning your trip.

A ferry ride from Belize City to San Pedro takes around one and a half hours. Although this is a much longer ride than taking a plane (which is only 15 minutes), it is a more scenic route, as you get to ride on a ferry and take in the sights as you do so.

There’s a large variety of fun activities to do in San Pedro, all of which vary significantly in price and length of time. Despite this, you’re guaranteed to have a fantastic time when participating in any of these fun activities:
Snorkeling
Snorkeling is one of the most common activities tourists enjoy when visiting San Pedro, and there are several snorkeling trips you can choose from.
Some snorkeling adventures take up a whole day and some only a few hours. A couple of these tours include:
